A Bit About Me

Kelly Erwin’s musical journey began at the age of six with piano lessons, sparking a lifelong love of music. A year later, she added violin to her studies and continued private instruction for eleven years. Throughout her youth, she performed in numerous recitals and played with the Youth Philharmonic of Central Ohio, where she earned first chair among the second violins before moving to the first section and later serving as Concert Master for a professional recording.

Kelly went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in History from Christendom College, where she continued to play piano and violin recreationally. She has sung in choirs since childhood—from parish and community ensembles to the Christendom College Choir, where she became a soprano section leader and scholarship recipient during her senior year.

As the seventh of eight children and an aunt to sixteen nieces and nephews, Kelly is naturally at ease working with students of all ages. Her passion for teaching grew while completing a Teaching Practicum at Padre Pio Academy and Chelsea Academy, where she worked with grades 5 through 8.

Kelly is delighted to be part of the Mountain View Music team and looks forward to sharing her joy and enthusiasm for music with every student she teaches.
