A Bit About Me

Weijia Chen is an accomplished classical guitarist and dedicated teacher whose passion for music inspires students of all ages. Originally from China, Weijia is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Guitar Performance at Shenandoah University in Virginia, studying under renowned guitarist Dr. Colin Davin. His training has taken him across Asia and Europe, where he studied with world-class artists and performed in diverse concert settings.

Weijia’s performances are known for their blend of technical precision and emotional depth, spanning music from the Renaissance to today—with a special love for Spanish and Latin American repertoire.

As a teacher, Weijia brings more than ten years of experience working with students from age four through adult learners, from complete beginners to aspiring professionals. He founded and directed the Guangzhou Chunyin Music School, where he developed his own curriculum emphasizing both strong fundamentals and joyful expression. His approach combines patience, structure, and creativity, helping students gain confidence and discover their own musical voice.

In addition to private lessons, Weijia offers group classes, ensemble coaching, and instruction on ukulele and acoustic guitar. His goal is to make classical guitar approachable and rewarding for every student—building not just skill, but a lifelong love of music.
